Every year, The Boss Hog charts new territory in whiskey, pushing the limits of craft and cask to create a one-of-a-kind single barrel Rye. Recognized as the most collectible North American whiskey, The Boss Hog XII: Feather & Flame is no exception.
Inspired by the sacred ceremonial drinks of Mesoamerica, Feather & Flame unites the wild fermentation of pulque with the spiced chocolaty depth of xocoatl. Back on the Farm, we recreated these ancient flavors in a pulque curado de cacao, infused with cacao nibs and dried chilis, then used it to season barrels before finishing our Straight Rye in this world’s-first expression. The result? Aztec flavors forged in the fires of creation.
The first pour opens with dark chocolate and orange zest, gives way to bright citrus, oak, and cocoa on the palate, and finishes with a touch of chili heat and fresh herbs. Unapologetically unique, Bottled at Proof, and Pulque-Finished to Perfection, Feather & Flame is the twelfth divine chapter in The Boss Hog saga—rebellion, ritual, and Rye in one legendary bottle.
