Always an entrepreneur, Raj actually had the name ‘WhistlePig’ long before he had the whiskey. Though he followed a rather circuitous route to the world of whiskey, he has always been an enthusiast, and with WhistlePig he has begun crafting the nation’s first “farm-to-bottle” single-estate distillery.
Dave Pickerell, Master Distiller
Dave, a luminary in the world of whiskey, is one of the nation’s preeminent master distillers. Before joining WhistlePig, he spent 14 years as the Master Distiller for Maker’s Mark in Loretto, Kentucky. He joined the WhistlePig team with a simple (yet astoundingly complex) objective: create the finest rye whiskey.
Running a farm and a whiskey company with a small crew is no small task, but at the very least there is never a dull moment. We’re a diverse group, with backgrounds in finance, farming, political science, sales, biology, and marketing. Some mornings we’ll go hunting on the farm, others we bottle whiskey. We have stewards of the brand in Vermont, Boston, New York, and Washington DC, as well as reps through our distributors in other locations. Visits to the farm offer them a break from city life whenever possible.
